TU offers countless ways to stay in shape and have fun. All Towson students have free access to all Campus Recreation facilities, including the fitness center, gymnasiums, pool and turf fields. Campus Rec programs (Aquatics, Fitness, Intramurals, Outdoor Adventures, and Sport Clubs) offer a great way to stay active through sports and exercise, learn new skills, and meet new people.
Aquatics and Safety
Burdick Pool, a 25-yard, eight-lane pool, is located in Burdick Hall. You can get in shape through lap swim, recreational swim, or special programming, such as swim lessons. Campus Rec also offers a variety of American Red Cross safety courses, including CPR, AED and First Aid. Learn more about aquatics at Towson.
TU students participate in a variety of sport activities offered through Campus Recreation’sSport Clubs and Intramural Sports. With many sport teams available at varying levels of competition, there’s something for all sports-loving students and for those who just want to have some fun being active with friends.
From free weights and cardio machines, to group fitness and personal training, Campus Recreation supports the Towson community’s pursuit of a healthy, active lifestyle. Get more information about the Fitness Center in Burdick Hall.
Check out Outdoor Adventures for opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. In addition to on-campus clinics in kayaking and programs on the challenge course in TU’s Glen Woods, Outdoor Adventures regularly takes students on trips for backpacking, camping, climbing, and more.
Burdick Hall Renovations
Burdick Hall is currently undergoing extensive construction that will expand the facility by 94,000 square feet. The expansion will provide the TU community with increased space for recreational activities within modern facilities. The expansion is set for completion in 2017.
