The 18-unit graduate certificate program includes five required courses and an internship. The graduate certificate is designed to prepare the candidate for a future professional role, to increase competence in a current career role or to provide a step toward further study in the field of gifted and creative education. With a special emphasis on diverse learners, the graduate certificate in Gifted and Creative Education will help teachers to develop children’s problem solving and thinking skills.
This graduate certificate leads to licensure endorsement in Gifted and Talented Education. Following completion of the certificate, students will submit their stamped transcript to the Maryland State Department of Education to receive the Gifted and Talented Specialist licensure.
