Asian Studies Minor

The minor in Asian Studies is designed for students majoring in another discipline, yet interested in acquiring knowledge of Asian nations and cultures.

Requirements for the Asian Studies Minor

  • Lower-level courses: A minimum of 6 units and a maximum of 9 units may be taken at the 100 or 200 level. At least two must be from different disciplines. One lower-level language course may be applied toward the lower-level courses.
  • Upper-level courses: A minimum of 12 units from at least three different disciplines. Language courses above 202 may count as one of the disciplines.
  • Foreign Language: There is no language requirement for the Asian Studies minor; however, students are encouraged to begin study of an Asian language.
