The Minor in Business Law is housed in the Department of Marketing.

The Minor in Business Law in the College of Business and Economics prepares its students with the knowledge and skills they need for a productive business career and introduction to legal studies. In an increasingly complex business world and regulatory environment, businesses and consumers need more than a passing acquaintance with the law and legal issues. Business law students study law from a business perspective to help them appreciate how legal issues affect business decision making. In addition, the business law minor contributes to students’ critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills development.

The 18-unit minor is available to all TU students, except for those who have a Business Administration major with a Legal Studies (CBEI) concentration. The Business Law minor normally takes 4 terms to complete.

  • At least 12 units of the Minor must be completed at Towson University.
  • No more than 3 units of upper (300-400) level courses may be taken as part of Study Abroad / Away.
