Music Education Major Requirements 

Students must complete the required courses in Music Education (78 units) and the requirements for one of the following concentrations: Instrumental Music Education (24 units) or Vocal-General Music Education (24 units) for a total of 102 units. Music Education majors must complete minimum 24 upper-level (300-400) units in MUSC (Music), Music Applied (MUSA), and/or Music Education (MUED) courses toward the major at Towson University.

Wind and Percussion students are required to take at least 2 terms of Marching Band (MUSA 160 / MUSA 360).

String students are required to take an additional unit of Symphonic Band or Symphony Orchestra. Chamber Music (MUSA 267 / MUSA 467) is recommended as the other ensemble.
