Academic Standards Committee

The Academic Standards Committee, comprising faculty, administrators and students, meets regularly to formulate policy, and review appeals from students asking for exceptions to policies.

Students who wish an exception must appeal in writing to the Academic Standards Committee, c/o the Registrar’s Office. Appeals must be written by students. Letters received from third parties will be considered only as support of students’ appeals. Letters of appeal should be as brief as possible and must include all pertinent academic information, including, when appropriate, supporting documentation. Appeals should include the student’s name, address, and student ID number. All appeals receive an emailed response from the committee.

The Academic Standards Committee is the highest level of appeal for exceptions to undergraduate policies, their decision is considered final.
